Starting and finishing in Winckley Square, runners are immediately immersed in the atmosphere of this iconic location before heading into the heart of the city along Fishergate.
The course then leads into the stunning Avenham and Miller Parks, providing a welcome contrast to the urban sections with tree-lined paths and open green spaces. Runners continue along the River Ribble, taking in peaceful waterside views before crossing at Walton Bridge to begin the return journey.
The route follows sections of the Old Tram Road and nearby nature reserve before crossing the Ribble again at Penwortham Old Bridge, guiding runners back through the parks and into the city centre for a strong finish in Winckley Square. The 10K route completes one lap of this course, while the Half Marathon takes on two laps, offering a balanced and achievable challenge.

Due to the strict limits on timings of the Road Closures all Half Marathon runners will be required to have passed halfway and started the 2nd lap before 1100hrs, to enable the roads to re-open as scheduled.
