The Cumbrian Cracker Sportive Route
Both the 60 mile and 100 mile routes begin in Grasmere and quickly set the tone for the day with the challenging climb up Red Bank within the first mile.
The 60 mile route heads around the back of Coniston Water, following beautiful country lanes before reaching the feed station at Cartmel Scout Hut near the famous Cartmel Racecourse.
From there, riders return via a scenic route through Grizedale Forest, Hawkshead and Ambleside, creating an undulating but rewarding ride through some of the most picturesque cycling roads in the Lake District.
For those taking on the 100 mile route, the challenge increases significantly. After descending Red Bank, riders head towards some of the most legendary climbs in British cycling, Hardknott Pass and Wrynose Pass, both tackled within the first 20 miles of the course.
The longer route then continues along the stunning coastal roads before looping back towards Broughton-in-Furness and Coniston Water, eventually rejoining the 60 mile route for the final ride back to Grasmere.
