path/trail
The 5.6km run starts on the road next to the school and continues onto trail paths leading in the direction of Rivington Pike, before returning to the transition area. The route is mainly off-road, with mixed terrain underfoot, so runners are advised to proceed with care. The course continues through Abbey Village and heads back towards Chorley, returning to transition via Limbrick and Grimeford. Riders should take care at key points, including the turn onto Sheep House Lane, the descent into Belmont, and narrower sections through Brinscall and Withnell. The route will be fully signed with marshals in place throughout.

The second run is a repeat of the 5.6km route, starting along the road beside the school before continuing onto the trail paths towards Rivington Pike and returning to the transition area. As with the first run, the course is mainly off-road with uneven terrain, so participants should take care underfoot. Marshals and clear signage will be in place throughout to support navigation and ensure a consistent and well-managed experience.
