Southport Triathlon attracts triathletes of all abilities, from complete novices to elite competitors take part in the Sprint and Standard Distance races. Based at Waterside Lodge a modern, purpose built two-storey Activity Centre on Southport Marine Lake, it has become one of the biggest events in the North West, reaching maximum capacity every year. The Sprint Distance event is 750m swim / 20k cycle / 5k run, the Standard Distance is 1500m swim / 40k cycle / 10k run. The cycle course takes place on closed roads and the run course is based around the Marine Lake on tarmac paths.
New for 2024! Southport will be hosting a Duathlon for the very first time, alongside its long established Triathlon event. Using the same closed road bike & run course as the Triathlon there will be a Sprint & Standard Distance The Sprint Distance will be a 5k run / 20k cycle / 5k run and the Standard Distance will be a 10k run / 40k cycle / 5k run. Racing alongside your fellow triathletes you will finish on our famous red carpet at Waterside Lodge.
Southport Triathlon 2024 has once again been selected to host a Major Event and will be the British Triathlon Age Group Qualifier for the 2025 World Championship Sprint Distance Triathlon – don’t forget after entering to register your intent to qualify on the British Triathlon website HERE

How much to enter:
The cost of a solo entry to Southport Triathlon Sprint/Standard is £64/£74. The cost of a relay team entry to Southport Triathlon sprint/standard is £94/104.
The cost of a solo entry to Southport Duathlon Sprint/Standard is £55/£65. The cost of a relay team entry to Southport Duathlon sprint/standard is £89/99.
All competitors are required to be a member of the British Triathlon Federation / Triathlon England or have a Race Pass for insurance purposes.
Entries will close either at 12 noon on the Thursday prior to the event or when the event fills, whichever occurs first.
British Triathlon Membership/Race Pass
All competitors are required to be a member of British Triathlon and hold a race licence or have a British Triathlon Race Pass to race in these events. You must either become a British Triathlon ‘Core’ or ‘Ultimate’ annual member HERE or purchase a single use Race Pass for Southport Triathlon/Duathlon HERE.
